Located at 56 Howe Street, immediately behind Wal Mart and the downtown Rutland plaza, this property was once occupied by the Patch-Wegner company. Patch-Wegner used to build machines for the marble industry on this site. Subsequently, the site was owned by Himolene, a division of The Clorox Co. Himolene used the property for the manufacture of plastic grocery bags. This property was purchased by the Giancola family in 2004. Extensive renovations have been completed since then.

The property covers approximately 5 acres and is occupied by seven buildings. Building 'A' has 15,000 square foot, 3-story office which is available. Building 'B' is approximately 32,000 square feet and contains a mixture of office and manufacturing space, which is currently under lease. Building ‘A’ - New Commercial Offices - Spaces from One Room to 10,000 square feet

Building 'A', which was formerly the main offices for the Patch-Wegner Manufacturing Company is a three-story masonry and concrete building which was constructed in 1910. The building was completely renovated during 2006 and 2007 to create new, class 'A' office space. Everything inside this beautiful building is brand new. We have installed all new, energy efficient lighting, heating and HVAC equipment. New windows and interior finishes have been installed to update the space. The building has fiber optic data services available to it. Finally, we installed a new elevator that services all three floors.

Currently, this building houses the Vermont Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire Prevention. Also located in this building is Mid-Vermont Medical Billing and Small Planet Communications. Currently the entire upper floor and a portion of the main floor are leased, with the rest of the building vacant.
